Food Matrix Symposium

Symposium at FENS Conference on the nutritional and health effects of nutrients in whole foods, fortified foods and supplements.

EMF members organised a symposium during the Federation of European Nutrition Societies (FENS) 14th European Nutrition Conference in Belgrade on 16th November 2023.

The symposium explored some of the differences in the nutritional and health effects of nutrients in whole foods and food matrices, compared with the effects of fortification and supplements, and the impact that this may have when developing dietary guidelines.
